Abstract
The main problem in this research is the distribution system of inheritance to children but based on the applicable law in Javanese custom. Therefore, this study aims to find out how the system of distributing inheritance to children uses the law or system in Javanese custom. as for the type of research used is the type of empirical research, using a sociological juridical approach. The subjects in this study were several heads of families in Neighborhood 3, Medan Johor District. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, documentation, and data analysis. The results of the study are the distribution of inheritance to children in the Javanese customary inheritance law system is 2:1, i.e. boys get bigger assets than girls, it has similarities in the distribution of inheritance according to Islam where in Islamic law usually boys get Inheritance rights are greater than for girls, but if there is a dispute in the distribution of inheritance, then the traditional leader can play a role as one of the mediations to resolve the dispute
