Abstract

Concrete is the main construction material that is widely used today because it is easy to shape as desired and the price is relatively cheaper than other construction materials, but concrete is considered unable to properly withstand tensile loads. The tensile strength of concrete can be increased by the addition of fibers, one of which is bendrat wire fibers. Apart from being faced with the problem of how to increase the tensile strength of concrete, currently the need for concrete constituent materials such as sand and gravel is increasingly difficult to obtain and overexploited. In this study using bendrat wire fibers with a variation of 4%; 6% and 8%. Bendrat wire fiber length used is 50 mm with a diameter of 1 mm. Tests conducted in the form of testing the compressive strength of concrete and the tensile strength of the concrete. From the results of this study, it was obtained that the average compressive strength test value of concrete in normal concrete was 20.10 MPa, 4% 19.34 MPa variation, 6% 20.95 MPa, 8% 21.51 MPa and the average split tensile strength in normal concrete was 2.83 MPa, 4% variation. 2.95 MPa, 6% 3.21 MPa, 8% 3.96 MPa.
