Abstract

Global agricultural trade has increased sharply over the past three decades, and has changed in structure with the increasing importance of high-value products such as horticultural products, dairy and meat products. Horticultural commodities which are part of agricultural products have received a lot of attention in international trade. Horticulture is also an important and strategic commodity which is also available in sufficient quantities with adequate quality, safe for consumption, and at prices that are affordable for the public. The horticultural market in the world is very large and shows an increasing trend along with the increase in population growth rate. Horticultural products are an increasingly important source of export earnings for many developing countries. The data used in this research is secondary data obtained from various sources including FAO, WDI, WTO, Comtrade, and CEPIL. The horticultural commodities analyzed for their competitiveness are potatoes, fresh or chilled nes.The analytical method used in this research is descriptive and quantitative analysis method. The descriptive method used the value of horticultural exports on the international market and analyzed the data used in this research. The quantitative method used to analyze the comparative advantage of horticultural commodities in developing countries is Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), while the export product dynamic (EPD) method is used to determine competitiveness based on horticultural export performance.
